Calling all Fashion Designers

Last Friday I went to “al-blockat” To buy some fabrics, No, It wasn’t for a dishdash or a suit (suit, yeah right). It was for a T-shirt. You see I have this Idea for a project which evolve around T-shirts.
With the help of the Princess of Shoes and Sandals (In Arabic it sounds like an insult.) I located few shops which sell this kind of fabrics. It was somehow costly but I think it’s worth it and some shops were closed (It was a Friday after all).

After that I went to My Auntie who happen to be a very good in tailoring. I told her I want this this and this but she said “I can’t do it, I might fuck it up”. So I went to the nearest tailor who said the same And another said the same and the same and the same. The bottom line, Nobody in Jahra can do it.

The Irony was when one of them said “go to al-blockat, they do this stuff” I just smiled, thanked him and left. Ever since I’m having this crazy idea of doing it myself, Since I’m a sucker for anything DIY.

I went googling for a T-shirt Pattern but no luck. I thought I might copy the design of my favorite t-shirt and hope it would work. But still I didn’t do anything yet.

I will be waiting for your suggestions.
Thanks in Advance.

Just a plain ol’ T-shirt, I provide the fabrics and he just tailor them. I’m looking for some one with a reasonable pricing.

I need him to do the name tags too, or maybe i can get some other place to do them and he will just sew it on the t-shirt.

please, More details … numbers, locations, names.
    thanks again.

    Tata,

First about the blockat visite :} the fabric over block 1 is not so expensive ! u can fine streatch cotton fabric as cheap as 1kd/mt .. if ur looking for cottton streatchable fabric go to montreal shop irani’s sell there, every price they give u you should get it to 1kd :) for that kind of fabric that is !! ..

As for the taylor part, depends on what you want to do explain more & I might be able to help you with the tailor.

I am not sure what you want to do with this T-shirt idea, wouldn’t it be much easier to buy plain T-shirts and put your design on them. Do the economics and you will see that is best.

Yes Purg, It Would But I’m thinking of something I can sell at villa moda or similar places. Something really “worth it”.

Will your t-shirts have a cool slogan on them? Something totally local that you can only understand in Kuwait? That would be fun!

If you want to go the “plain” route, then the cut and fit have to be exceptional, right?

    Yes, Something within these lines.
The whole Idea is about being local or they better go to diesel.

I like Diesel’s t-shirts because they’re cut in a way that makes me look semi-buff when I’m sooo not
