Interested to know why one chooses to live in Jahra and commute to the City. What are the benefits? How long does it take every day? Do you do much shopping in the City?

Would you ride a fast train to the City if there was one? How about a fast boat from Jahra to Sharq or Salmiya?

Honda Accord ... I have one from 2004 (bought it as new) ... it never had ANY KIND of problems and I'm driving it like at least 50 km daily ...

(of couse i did the services on time always) ;)

EXTREAMLY RELIABLE ... NOT EXPENSIVE TO SERVICE ... DOESN'T NEED LOTS OF GAS ... YOU'LL NOT LOOSE TOO MUCH MONEY IF YOU WANNA SELL IT (the same accord that i bought in 2004 with 5000KD is now IN 2006 around 4500)

SO GO FOR A HONDA ACCORD MAN.
btw ... the new CIVIC looks COOL as well

I suggest you forget about the car for now & switch to qualitynet ;) Grand Cherokee's aight, new one does look kind of retarded (but maybe that's just an inevitable bias) & Trailblazer seems like a cool option; if you still want a big, practical car & not too obsessed about the "image" it exudes, consider a Crown Victoria or Camry (but this is more from word of mouth rather than personal experience :P), they're both mega spacey though :)

I too have been looking for a car recently..

try the ones mentioned about, but if you want smaller, the new Suzuki Grand Vitara looks pretty funky. Has stronger lines on it and more character.

Theres the Toyota Fortuner too...

Hmmm the Nissan Altima starts pretty low. Its a great car too. Nissan have really turned around in recent years. Whatever you do dont get a Maxima, the new one is out really soon and the wakala are trying to sell off their old inventory...

Servicing a Nissan will be cheap too...

The Trailblazer and Envoy both guzzle gas... 4 litre V6s...

the best thing is :

1) Set your MAX budget BEFORE you go to the showroom

2) Go to the showrooms, will take two evenings and ONLY look at stuff within your budget... otherwise you will get frustrated, happenned to me and you start pushing that limit higher and higher

3) decide! crunch time

Best of luck

Good to know your car is fixed, fella. But in case you're still thinking about getting a new car, I would say go for the Ford Escape. It's small enough to move like a regular car but it has 4X4 capabilities. I've had it for four years now and love it :)

if you are going for a small car i would highly recomend honda accord , we have one in the house and its nice , the agent is good also

if you are going for a 4X4 trailblazer is the cheapest of it size ( yes unbliveable i know but i checked toyota and nissan )

You can go for the Ford Explorer, I think a new one costs around 6499 from the dealership. It's pretty nice, spacious and its a V6 , so you won't have to worry about gas.
