Dear Mark

I didn’t spam your post.

I just pointed out that the monthly kuwaiti bloggers meeting will be this thursday at 5:30PM at Second Cup (near the kuwait stock market). I also said, the meeting has always been open for everybody (boys and girls) and the 2:48AM fans as well as yourself and whoever is interested are welcome to join the meeting. I assure you there were no links to any penis enlargement kits of any kind in my comment.

Just thought I might help some people save some time by not re-inventing the wheel. So I posted some absolutely relative information and I don’t think I strayed from the main subject of your post.

Also, grow the fuck up.

Mark, you deleted my comment and u accused me of spamming ur website which wasn’t true. You leave people guessing and I don’t this kind of shit.

It gets to me when people start lying about me trying to fuck up my image for whatever goals they have.

It was my fault in the first place, I shouldn’t have messed with kids.

    Do your thing man

Tata, I talked to Mark and suggested the only way to finish this is a deathmatch!

To be fair it will be done with three rounds.
    1) Boxing
    2) Designing
    3) Video Games

Best out of 3 will be crowned victorious and collect bragging rights.

Would you be interested in a battle to end all battles?

Judy I do not want to confuse my readers with the Kuwait Blogs meetup which happens every month.

The 248AM Meetup is one where me and my readers make decide on the place and the time. Currently we are leaning towards Johnny Rockets. Its customized to our needs and its still in discussion.

Tata, you came in and posted about your Thursday meetup. It had nothing to do with the 248AM meetup I am trying to put together and it would only confuse people.

What you did is post unsolicited information. Thats called spamming.

Sorry if you don’t see it that way but you really shouldnt take things personally.

The thursday meetings are for Bloggers ..

The one Mark was talking about was for the people who read his stuff. Think of it as a meeting for commenters.

I for one wouldn’t want a bunch of readers (non-bloggers) coming to the thursday meetings. That sort of kills the purpose.

    “your Thursday meetup”?

Mark, It’s not MY meeting, it’s not anybody’s meeting. It’s just the official, unanimously agreed on monthly meeting that been going on before you even started blogging.

K, the meeting is open for whoever enjoys reading or witing blogs. we had people come over before who weren’t bloggers really.

totally agree with you, Mark always does this wierd thing, seen it becoming even worst as time goes by, it must be all that extra money he is making of the adverts. Guess he can’t afford to let his readers run away…Gosh would Alghanim pull the adverts off his site! The shock and horror of it all!

Tata I have been blogging since February 2003. The first meetup took place like in 2005?

Secondly you need to get over yourself. Its really none of your business if I have a meetup or not dude. I dont need your permission.

Mehr, you are just pissed cuz i deleted yuor post.

I just had to comment on this post but before I do, let me be perfectly clear that I bear no ill-will towards Mark (hell, I don’t even know the guy) and remain a loyal 248am reader.

I recently replied to a post on 248am and my comment was deleted and my IP banned! I couldn’t believe it since I didn’t use any curse words, didn’t direct any hatred towards anyone and didn’t break any netiquette rules. I initially thought that it might’ve been the spamblock acting weird so subsequently posted a topic on the forum asking for an explanation. However, instead of an explanation, my post was deleted.

This kind of juvenile behavior is really off-putting. 248am is the only Kuwait-based blog I read regularly because I really enjoy the diversity but if people’s opinions are being filtered then I (and others like me) have less reason to be there.

Mark, a piece of friendly advice (please take this in the right spirit): Reduce the censorship, explain to people why their comments are deleted/IPs banned. In short, allow diversity of opinion else you’ll be left with a bunch of yes-men.

Sorry for the rant but I feel some positive criticism could help.

    Peace.

PS: Tata, sorry for hijacking your post but if I had posted this on the forum, my post would probably be deleted :(

    calm the fuck down everyone

Tata… you shouldnt have taken this so serious and telling Mark to grow the fuck up, his post WAS about an independant meet up & NOTHING to do with the Kuwaiti Bloggers meet up.

However, I think that it shouldnt have been deleted and Mark could have commented explaining that ur comment didnt have anything to do with the OFFICAL Kuwaiti Blogs.

    Now calm down everyone!

    K the Kuwaiti, I agree.
    I have a few suggestions:

    -Lo Fidelity Allstars - Battleflag
-Fatboy Slim - Don’t Let the Man Get You Down
-Basement Jaxx - Where’s Your Head At
-The Wiz Soundtrack (Ft. Michael Jackson) - You Can’t Win

    And last but not least:
-Sly & the Family Stone - Everybody is a Star (!)

Being someone who won’t attend both meetings and never attended the bloggers meetup, I think you are confusing us guys and now I can’t decide which meeting not to attend.

Purg: are we still on with our “CHez Fadi & Mar” meeting that will overlap with both events?
please come back to me early and cosult Nibaq as we have to organize something else and meetup with the fans of papa John’s

I think a “248am” meetup kind of alienates all other bloggers, whereas Kuwait Bloggers Meetup is more encompassing. I would personally be more inclined to attend a meetup that is aimed at *everyone*, rather than just the readers of a single blog.

I’d have to agree with Dogbert about the censorship and ‘yes-men’ comment. I personally never censor; I am mature enough to know that not everyone will agree/like what I have to say, and most of all, am confident enough that if someone leaves a nasty comment, the last thing it will reflect poorly on is my blog, but rather the person leaving the comment.

I have nothing against mark and his meeting.

I just thought deleting my comment and calling it spam wasn’t the right thing to do.

erzulie, It seems you put more though in the names of those tracks rather than the music itself. Fatboy slim’s? climax-y? c’mon … I expect a better list than this from a music fanatic I respect and follow. peace

I agree with Tata, your stuff is making subtle hints at the topic .. I wanted something more like the soundtrack from Kill Bill. Then we could give Mark and Tata Swords and slow motion Cameras.

Tata I usually delete spam comments without giving a reason unless its a regular or someone I know I then usually mention ***DELETED*** and the reason why. Thats why I told you don’t take it personally.

Dogbert I did not delete your question in the forum. I just moved it from the General Discussion section to the Feedback Section and replied to you. http://248am.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=493
You werent banned from the site, the error you got was from the server. Its technically not possible for me to ban ips. I can ban your ip from posting a comment but not from the whole site.

Mehr why don’t you please tell everyone here what I did to you? Then let them judge if my response to you was justified or not.
